AtlasCT releases version 3.2 of AtlasMobile for location-based mobile applications development

AtlasCT a semifinalist of the 2008 Global LBS Challenge APAC Region
AtlasCT move up to the final judging of the 2008 NAVTEQ® Global LBS Challenge™ as a semifinalist in the Navigation category for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. AtlasCT’s application City Cruiser is an advanced off-board GPS navigation application for mobile phones. It offers turn-by-turn navigation over superior quality 3D vector maps. The application provides a variety of Location-based Services among are address find, satellite imagery, enhanced local search, voice guidance, dynamic content (weather, traffic) and location share. The Challenge is an annual competition designed to stimulate the LBS industry by encouraging application developers from around the world to build innovative location-based service (LBS) applications that work with portable devices using wireless technology and NAVTEQ maps. This year marks the first Challenge dedicated to the Asia-Pacific region. Registrations were received from 27 different countries and set a record for total number of registrations for one region. From the received applications only twelve advanced to the final judging which will be held during the CommunicAsia in Singapore on June 18, 2008. Moving to the final round of the Challenge for the third time consecutively, reaffirms AtlasCT’s position as a leading developer of location-based applications.
AtlasCT releases version 3.0 of AtlasMobile SDK package In a constant effort to expand the services of its mobile mapping platform, AtlasCT releases the latest version of the AtlasMobile™ Software Development Kit (SDK), version 3.0. AtlasMobile SDK is a client side set of advanced components, which implements a variety of mapping capabilities and geospatial services for the fast growing market of mobile handsets. It is available for Java™ ME™ and for Windows® Mobile® (.NET™ Compact Framework) environments. The AtlasMobile SDK has a small footprint and is optimized for high performance and low memory usage making it compatible with low-end to high-end mobile device. Version 3.0 of the AtlasMobile SDK provides enhanced functionality and offers a variety of new features. Among the highlights of the new version are: satellite imagery and hybrid maps, local Points-of-Interest (POIs) lookup, dynamic content (weather, traffic) display and touch screen support. The additional features and the enhanced functionality result in faster applications development, easy adding of customer layers and improved user experience. A clear indication of the AtlasMobile SDK high capabilities was received lately from the 2008 NAVTEQ® Global LBS Challenge™ held at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain. 3 of 12 semifinalists applications that move up to the final judging round were powered by the AtlasMobile SDK.
