AtlasML
AtlasML is an XML interface module designed for developers who need GIS data in XML format, using AtlasCT’s mapping system. The GIS data is needed in order to integrate it into the developer application in addition to the capabilities provided by the AtlasWeb SDK development package, or when using other development tools. The AtlasML supplies GIS Web Services (Geocoding, Reverse Geocoding and Routing) which allow the developer to retrieve specific GIS data found on AtlasCT’s mapping system. The Web Services are all REST services, meaning the developer can easily construct a request URL link that will work in his browser, on the command line, and in his application code. XML is a W3C recommended general-purpose markup language; its primary purpose is to facilitate the sharing of data across different systems, particularly systems connected via the Internet. Getting GIS data in XML format enable developers to integrate it easily and quickly in various applications running on any platform, any browser and any map format.
