AtlasCT and Nokia cooperate in introducing an innovative search application to Nokia smartphones.
AtlasCT and Nokia are collaborating on integrating an innovative mobile search application to Nokia smartphones.
The mobile search application provides Nokia smartphone users with easy and fast access to leading search engines directly from their mobile phones. The search application is a simple, convenient and fast way for Nokia smartphone users to find and connect to any website as well as local search engines, whenever, wherever.
Users can search for anything on the web, including websites, images, news and weather or traffic information.
The local search engines enable searching for local services or businesses. When traveling between countries, the search application automaticaflly offers to change to available local search engines.
Results of local searches display the relevant contact data, and the user can instantly, with a button click, call the given telephone number or save it to contacts. Moreover, with integrated mapping solutions from www.abmaps.com portal, developed and operated by AtlasCT, the results can be shown on a map, aiding users to locate their destination.
AtlasCT's online vector maps for the mobile search application are specifically designed to achieve high performance and are streamed to the mobile phone using the SVG format. The vector data is manipulated in real time by the AtlasNET map server in order to generate highly compressed maps without compromising the quality and usability of the mapping data.
The mobile search application is currently being piloted in the UK, Finland and Sweden.
More information about the mobile search application can be found on the Nokia website.
